Entry Mission Four: Fight Club
Do you remember that 1999 movie that came out that was about a man that didn't realize that he had two personalities until the conclusion of the film? Yep, you know what movie I am talking about, Fight Club. This film may seem so unrealistic to the levels that the film took the characters Brad Pitt and Edward Norton to the point of destroying where the character lived. Yet, there have been so many conversations, inspirations, and connections that we have seen throughout the years since the release of the classic film. Some may come to say that the film is better than the book that was written by Chuck Palahniuk. I have not read the book, but personally loved the concept of the film as well. I still have to rewatch it and see the connections that the film makes to the mental capacity to creating this "Fight Club." But we all don't ever get to the point that we feel the need to create such a club, create such a lawless aspect of fighting. In the film, it was a way to release anger, but in real life, the pain and consequences become more real than they seem. I am here to say that there has been a report today of a "Fight Club" in the center of where the public would never expect.
"2 day care workers are charged after child 'fight club' video surfaces," Jay Croft and Marlena Baldacci, CNN introduce the title of their article. Nope, I am not lying. Two daycare workers organized multiple children to fight against each other. All the children that were in the room being supervised were between the ages 4 and 5. If you thought that was crazy, it was a 10-year-old, he had his brother in the class fights, that recorded almost 30 minutes of the actions that took place December 7th, 2016. You think that two women would devote their lives to the children that they raise, maybe try to earn money outside of their day
job. Nope. The women that you see to your left Mickala Guliford, and to the far right is Tena Dailey. I wouldn't even know their names if they organized this type of event with adults. If I would questions that seem to come unanswered would be, "What were you thinking?" "What was the lesson you were trying to prove to the children?" "Was there a designated purpose for allowing children to battle one another with minimal protection?
Well, that is what the world is turning to. At least it took almost two decades to get the point that these women seek it out to be a good idea. There is no further information that is on this matter other than the arrest, but that is all that I need to know to be satisfied that "Mickala Guliford, 28, and Tena Dailey, 22, were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a felony, according to probable cause statements from prosecutors,"(Croft and Baldacci).
