Mission Entry Nine: Influence

Image
Media. It has been in our lives since we were born. If you are reading this, it is a media. What are you reading this on? My blog is being typed, posted, read, and commented on the internet. How do you get to the internet you say? Well, Johnny, you grab hold of a device and look for me. Not me literally, you are looking for the place that I created a social discussion board. Media will always be there, it will never go away, no matter how hard we try. Media comes from the very spread of information that isn't through the personal face to face connection. In the past, we had the newspaper. The very newspaper would spread the word on what goes on in the world around us. Reporters go out of their way to see what people are doing. Even if it has the worst of consequences.     TMZ is a recent News outlet that just wants to invade the lives of celebrities and shine the light where it doesn't with the average person. The news was important back when it came out, b...

Entry Mission Seven: Conversation Starter

Image
Do you use hashtags? If you do, that's awesome, although I do not use them I get the concept simply because I have been in the world long enough. I may not use social media, but I talk to people in general conversations, and it is hard enough to bring up topics that one person would like to talk about. Talking to multiple people is the sole purpose of social media, especially when it comes to spreading the word that you would like to get out.     You want to speak to your audience on topics that you would like to discuss, hear opinions, and get to the bottom of what you desire an answer from. For example, if I was to go to go to my account and just type #Weekend  I would get so many different responses that no two will be the same to how the responder sees their weekends. Some people may be able to relate to how they felt on their weekend, or the activities, or what everyone just got to accomplish on their weekend. Or you may be apart of the un...

Entry Mission Eight: The Missing Piece

I want to discuss the new film Instant Family and go into discussing why this film should be viewed as a family in today's generation. When the film kicks off, it ignites the characters Pete and Ellie who want children, and open their home to three children that they want to see if they would like to adopt them. The film has a great representation of a modern family, has heart, and two new parents that are willing to accept the instant effects of their home additions. My grandparents, sister, and I went to go see this film when we found the time with somewhat good intentions. To me, they were not as high as the film presents itself to be. I was shocked at how the film took the turn of focus developing the characters throughout the film.     When you spend your life as a kid, not knowing what your parents go through every single day, yet we question taking out the trash, it strikes the heartstrings looking back at who we were in the past. Kids take ad...

Entry Mission Six: KIN

Image
I watch a lot of movies, and the one that I would like to talk about that is fresh on my mind. Watching the trailer produced for the film, you think that the movie is just going to be straight syfy action throughout. That is what my thoughts were leaping into this film about a boy that finds a weapon that only he can control. When he finds the weapon, it triggers people to hunt for the weapon throughout the film, meaning that a fast-paced plot can thicken in a two-hour period.     If you were having the same thought process, you are wrong as much as me, yet it was a heart-warming surprise. This might be one of my recent cherished films because it comes close to my heart when it comes to what the plot of the movie developed into. Movies are not becoming any better, as there are so many that are hard to top the classics that live on. KIN is a film that has so much going on but revolves around the young actor that stars in this film. It was calm, although had that ...

Entry Mission Five: Local Response

School. We roam the halls unaware of who we are meant to be when we are just roaming the halls for the first time. Most of today's parents don't make their children become who they become later in life, but how could you tell a kindergartener that he has to pick a job that they have to enjoy for the rest of their lives that is going to maintain their stability in life? There needs to be time for growth and developing the proper mindset. https://daohe976vliu1.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/adult.jpg     We all do not know that we are meant to take our education with us for the rest of our lives, as we are all taught that we are meant to be in the workforce. We all want to take the easy route, and all over the United States, we have taken the jobs that take little education and leap right into doing manual labor for quick cash. That is what teenagers do today, and at that age, it is already difficult to hope that they enjoy school as it is. Arizona ...

Entry Mission Four: Fight Club

Image
Do you remember that 1999 movie that came out that was about a man that didn't realize that he had two personalities until the conclusion of the film? Yep, you know what movie I am talking about, Fight Club. This film may seem so unrealistic to the levels that the film took the characters Brad Pitt and Edward Norton to the point of destroying where the character lived. Yet, there have been so many conversations, inspirations, and connections that we have seen throughout the years since the release of the classic film. Some may come to say that the film is better than the book that was written by  C huck Palahniuk . I have not read the book, but personally loved the concept of the film as well. I still have to rewatch it and see the connections that the film makes to the mental capacity to creating this "Fight Club." But we all don't ever get to the point that we feel the need to create such a club, create such a lawless aspect of fighting. In the film, i...

Entry Mission Three: Slanted Reports

Image
Hey, there aga in, I am here to bring a film that was released to your attention, and to the light that it may deserve. If you had read my previous blogs, you know my interest in films, but I stumbled upon reading about facts that connect to the film Gosnell. I was unaware of the film, as the advertisements on the films have been pulled from the general audience. What you may also be unaware of is the facts itself. Gosnell ran an abortion clinic and the reasoning behind his life sentence in prison is  involuntary manslaughter . Now that you know the facts behind the man, we can dive into breaking down the report that I can come across to define more of an opinion.      The title of the article  by Jason Riley, October 16 at The Wall Street Journal  fires away, "Movie of a Murderer serving life sentence faces media blackout. " (Riley).   Riley doesn't take the consideration of going into the trail and only goes directly going into th...
